It all began in 1971 with Manuel da Costa Carvalho Lima, the founder of Vinhos Norte, who started the company with his sons. After five decades in the wine business, the winery still operates in the small village of Várzea Cova, in the Minho Region, North of Portugal.

Vinhos Norte is a perfect blend of tradition and innovation at technical and at winemaking levels. The primary concerns to the company are the people, the sustainable growth of the region, and its communities. Along with the social responsibility, Vinhos Norte also cares about the environment, investing in water treatment facilities and renewable energies.
