Founded in 1854 by the descendants of the Duke of Lencastre, surrounded by cork trees and eucalyptus from Australia, Herdade da Calada is hidden between the soft hills of Alentejo.
In Herdade da Calada, people and nature come together harmoniously. Our fertile soils and ideal climate give excellence to our grapes, giving rise to perfect wines that do not deny their origins. And it is not only the wines that characterize Herdade da Calada; the extensive hectares of olive groves give rise to equally exceptional and awarded oils and olive oils.
The estate has 420 hectares, 55 of which are vineyards and 126 are olive groves. The remaining area includes land, cereal cultivation, and our magnificent rural accommodation.
