Cofisa is a canning company with a plant in Figueira da Foz with around 300 employees.
It belongs to the FreitasMar group, a universe totally dedicated to the development, production, and distribution of fish cans, with one more plant in Olhão-Algarve, mainly dedicated to the production of tuna fillets and mackerel in glass jars and premium references. Cofisa is dedicated exclusively to the manufacture of canned fish, especially tuna, sardines, and mackerel, in cans and glass jars in the most varied formats, weights, and sauces.
We produce fish cans under our own brands and also private label brands for all distribution chains in Portugal and some of the largest in Europe, with exports representing more than 35% of the total annual turnover in a total of more than 30 countries. Cofisa is Quality certified with IFS and BRC, and also concerned with the sustainability of fisheries, it manufactures references with certified fish, MSC, Friend of the Sea, and Dolphin Safe.
