Adira launches world’s largest metal 3D printer

The Portuguese company, Adira Metal Forming Solutions, took the next step in metal 3D printing: AddCreator AC210, the world’s largest metal 3D printer. The new product has just come out to the market, standing out for its use of Powder Bed Fusion laser technology along with its large-scale printing capacity (1 m x 1 m x 0.5 m).

With a wide range of industrial uses, the AC210 offers solutions tailored to the aeronautics and space industry, the various energy sectors, prototyping, automotive industry, and more. It enables creating unique parts to eliminate accumulated stock and creates geometries that would otherwise be impossible with other manufacturing processes. The fivefold increase of processing speed combined with a multi-laser system makes productivity to soar.

The closed powder circulation system and an interchangeable printing table and independent scraper are the work base for the action of its five lasers, which give shape and form to the metal part. Adira automates all of AddCreator’s powder management operations in a closed cycle system, including functions such as sieving, storing, transporting, dispensing, and re-coating. All powder management operations are monitored in real-time, which facilitates diagnostics by the machine operator.

A pioneer in technological innovation for the industry, Adira Metal Forming Solutions is advancing with the commercial launch of the world’s largest metal 3D printer, both in Portugal and in various export markets, reinforcing its goal of stepping up to a multi-continental structure.

With a history of over 60 years as a benchmark manufacturer and global supplier of engineering solutions, Adira Metal Forming Solutions stands out to produce hydraulic press brakes, shears, and robotized cells, carrying out intensive research development in large-scale additive manufacturing.

Portugal is a country open for business, ready to provide innovation to the world. Adira is just one example of Portugal Open For Business.
